Microsoft Dynamics™ AX is among the most open
and technologically advanced application in the market
today. It is a fully object oriented system with full open
source to the application/business logic.
Microsoft Dynamics™ AX
object server (AOS)
The Microsoft Dynamics™ AX Object Server (AOS) allows for a true multi-tier application
with the option of intelligent thin clients or fat clients. The AOS framework
allows for scalability when your company grows. The AOS has a built in load
balancing and the ability to deliver 24x7 uptime. The AOS technology is scalable
and helps enhance the flexibility, performance, and connectivity of your solution.
Microsoft Dynamics™ AX
Development tools
IntelliMorph and MorphX Microsoft Dynamics™ AX development technologies that make it surprisingly
simple to customize the user interface of Microsoft Dynamics™ AX. Modifications to screens
or reports can be done effortlessly with the appropriate privileges set for
end users.
- Hide and display fields on screens
- Move fields among tab pages
- Reorganize the order of fields
in a grid
With these capabilities, individual
users can securely and quickly modify Microsoft Dynamics™ AX to best suit
their individual requirements. The MorphX technology automatically
rearranges forms and reports to efficiently use allocated
space efficiently.
The Application Object Tree (AOT)
is managed by technical personnel. It allows for:
- Changes to a field's properties
(i.e., name, length, edit properties, etc.)
- The addition of fields
-
Adding or changing field groups
(i.e., the address field group may contain, street, city,
country, etc).
- The addition of fields or field
groups to forms and reports.
IntelliMorph architecture guarantees
that modifications are inherited into the application. Therefore,
all forms and reports would automatically inherit any modifications
without requiring any special or unusual maintenance.
X++ is the programming language used
within Microsoft Dynamics™ AX. X++ is very similar to JAVA and is
fully object-oriented and optimized for writing business
solutions where you do not have to concentrate on the technical
infrastructure.
Managing
Upgrades & Customizations
Microsoft Dynamics™ AX is designed with a unique layering structure that controls how updates
and modifications are made in the application. The Microsoft Dynamics™ AX objects are stored
in the sys layer, which is controlled and maintained by Microsoft Business
Solutions. Country-specific, industry-specific and customer-specific modifications
are then created and stored in the other layers of the application.
The Microsoft Dynamics™ AX layering technology provides
a means to:
- Effortlessly identify and manage
customizations
- Compare customizations in the product
by layer and manage / incorporate new versions
- Allow users of the product to have
customized capabilities
Each layer carries forward the code
from the layer below. If special care is not utilized during
an implementation of application code you can quickly see
that upgrades to code that has been carried forward will
never be executed. If not managed properly, you could be upgrading your
code four times. This decreases the chances for a successful upgrade. This process can get extremely
complicated if our customers have BUS, VAR and CUS layer
applications and/or modifications.
Microsoft
Office Integration
Microsoft Dynamics™ AX integrates well to Microsoft Office allowing for data to be copied from Microsoft Dynamics™ AX and pasted into other applications, such as Excel. When records are
copied from an overview grid, users will be pleased to see that the column
heading are also copied. Need more…
Security
Use configuration and security keys to configure Microsoft Dynamics™ AX and control user access
to different features. You can grant different rights to each company’s
accounts in the same database, as well as grant user access on a more specific
and detailed level. In Microsoft Dynamics™ AX there are five different categories to facilitate
different levels of user access:
- No access – the user cannot
see these items
- View - the user can only view items
- Edit – the user has access
to edit items
- Create – the user can create
new items
- Full control – the user has
full access rights to create and delete items
Microsoft Dynamics™ AX offers the ability to control
access to specific areas of your data – down to a record
level. Record level security may be used with other permissions
to limit data access. For example, in addition to separating
information by storing it in different logical “companies”,
Microsoft Dynamics™ AX record level security gives you the ability to limit
a particular user, or a group of users, so that they may
only have access to work with a part of the database.
